Simplifying

I read an article about a woman who is selling most of her possessions on ebay. She is just keeping her cats, some clothing and photos. I think that is really cool. Minimizing stuff has been a goal of mine for the past few years and I have made a significant dent. When the Good Will store sees me coming now they just open the doors and hold them open while I bring in the bags and boxes. I still have more to go and I don't think I will ever be like the woman in the article. But I started wondering which items I would keep if I had to give almost everything away. Here's my list:
1. Totoro (my 17 lb. mushball of a cat)
2. My laptop (so I can keep in touch with all of my Zaadz friends of course)
3. Some of my organic cotton and hemp clothing
4. My 40+ mpg Toyota Yaris or my Northern Exposure DVDs (I'm not sure which I like more)
5. My crocheting hooks and organic cotton yarn
Sooooooo...
This begs the questions - if you could only keep 3-5 "things" what would they be?

Help

What a great post! I love to simplify. Here is what I would keep.
1. my cell phone (to keep in touch)
2. my yoga books (to teach)
3. my lululemon clothes (soooo comfy)
4. my meditation blanket (also for comfort)
I agree. Great idea. Here’s mine:
1. my computer - staying in touch with friends, working on my writing, learning on the Internet
2. my gohonzon - the only ritualistic piece to my spiritual practices that requires the presence of
a specific object
3. my cell phone - sometimes email just doesn’t cut it (sometimes phones don’t either)
4. enough seeds to start a proper garden - everyone has to eat, and I like to eat healthy
5. clothing - unless it’s warm wherever I am, in which case, I change my answer to Mt. Dew :-)
Very interesting question-
1. I would need a couple of outfits to wear-nakedness is not in vogue around here
2. My camera
3. An afaghan that my hubby and I have had since before we were married
4. The artwork one of my best friends made for me as gifts of inspiration
5. A comfortable pair of shoes
